New Kensington faculty and staff honored for publications, awards

Penn State New Kensington honored campus faculty and staff at the 22nd Faculty Research Reception held in the Elizabeth S. Blissell Library on Dec. 4. In addition to recognizing faculty and staff publication and awards, this year’s event also featured a panel of faculty researchers who offered remarks and answered questions from attendees.

Penn Staters invited to share feedback on draft Strategic Plan proposal

A draft proposal of Penn State’s institutional strategic plan has been unveiled and shared with the community for feedback and discussion. All faculty, staff and students at all campuses are encouraged to visit the Strategic Plan website to review and provide feedback on the draft plans for four goal areas.

$1.1M NSF grant to fund statewide cyberinfrastructure project

Researchers at the Penn State Institute for Computational and Data Sciences, together with collaborators at other institutions within Pennsylvania, have been awarded approximately $1.1 million in funding under the U.S. National Science Foundation Campus Cyberinfrastructure program to develop a commonwealth-wide secure network and related cyberinfrastructure to interconnect Pennsylvania colleges and universities.

From Rust Belt to Green Belt: Penn State leads nuclear research alliance

Led by Penn State, academia, national laboratories and industry have formed the Post-Industrial Midwest and Appalachia (PIMA) Nuclear Alliance to harness carbon-free energy while educating and training the future energy workforce. The alliance will host a workshop to continue establishing their team, conceptualizing their goals and developing their project plans at Penn State New Kensington’s Digital Foundry on Dec. 8-9.
